Creative Arts Therapies

Creative arts therapy is a mental health profession that uses active engagement in the arts to address the psychological, emotional, developmental, and psycho-social needs of individuals in order to help them maximize their potential through interactive play. Our therapists utilize various types of media and methodologies within a humanistic, relationship-based framework that focus on helping students foster social-emotional growth through a creative process and inherently growing therapeutic relationships through that process. Interactive play is essential for students’ well-being, as it helps promote creative thinking, emotional exploration and expression, communication and relatedness, all of which are necessary for learning and building meaningful relationships with others.
